    El melanoma es el tumor cutáneo de mayor morbimortalidad.

    Los primeros reportes se remontan al siglo V a.C. pero no fue hasta el siglo XIX cuando se identifica como enfermedad específica. A partir de ese momento inician las primeras descrip- ciones de la enfermedad así como de las vías de diseminación y se postulan tratamientos quirúrgicos que fueron la Guía del Tratamiento del Melanoma por varias décadas

    Melanoma is the cutaneous tumor with highest morbidity and mortality. The first reports date back to the V century BC but it was not until the nineteenth century when it is identified as a specific disease. From that point, the first descriptions of the disease and the ways of dissemination were described, along with the surgical treatments that guided the treatment of me- lanoma for decades
