    La historiografía siempre ha mantenido a las mujeres en un plano secundario, quizás porque quienes escribían la Historia han sido mayoritariamente hombres y, por tanto, debían cumplir con su género. Sin embargo, en las últimas décadas han surgido corrientes historiográficas que intentan corregir esta realidad errónea, reivindicando la presencia femenina en los diferentes espacios públicos y esa primera línea de la sociedad, desde donde participaron de manera activa en la defensa de sus ideales y de la nación hasta conseguir sus objetivos.

    Este artículo pretende hacer un repaso por las actuaciones que llevaron a cabo algunas mujeres que destacaron por algún hecho concreto en el siglo XIX en La Rioja. Para hablar de este territorio hay que tener en cuenta su división administrativa entre las provincias de Soria y Burgos, hasta pasar a ser denominada provincia de Logroño en el primer tercio del siglo. Esta zona vivió como testigo excepcional la invasión francesa y la guerra que desencadenó, así como el caciquismo imperante durante la Restauración, al ser ésta una provincia fuertemente liberal. Las mujeres tuvieron difícil hacerse un hueco en esta sociedad, pero algunas lo consiguieron.

    The historiography has always kept women in a secondary level, perhaps because those who wrote history have been mostly men and, therefore, should fulfill its kind. However, in recent decades they have emerged historiographical trends that attempt to correct this wrong reality, claiming the presence of women in various public spaces and the first line of the company and participated actively in the defense of their ideals and the nation.

    This article aims to make a run through the actions that took place some women that stood by any concrete facts in the nineteenth century in La Rioja. To speak of this territory must take into account the administrative division between the provinces of Soria and Burgos, to become known as Logroño Province in the first third of the century. This area experienced an exceptional witness the French invasion and the war that broke out as a result of it, as well as the prevailing despotism during the Restoration, as this is a strongly liberal province. Women were difficult to gain a foothold in this society, but few succeeded.
