Ricapito pointed out in 1997 that there was a close relationship between Lazarillo de Tormes and Vives’ works regarding their criticism of the concept of honra (honor), their ideas about the relevance of education, their treatment of the concept of Fame, their analyses of poverty, their criticism against the Church, etc. Calero in his turn (2006) attributed Lazarillo to Vives.
