    • The article discusses the newly-approved Privacy Shiled which replaces Safe Harbour agreement and sets out tighter controls around U.S. gathering and retention of data including stricter limitations surrounding surveillance purposes. It cites uncertainty surrounding its application for banks until challenged in U.S. or European Union courts. The Privacy Shield further sets stricter conditions for data processing including the need for U.S. company to clearly state the types of data collected.
