  • The article discusses the European Securities and Markets Authority's (ESMA) advice to the European Commission on extending Alternative Investment Fund Managers' Directive's (AIFMD) passports to funds outside of the European Union (EU). It cites ESMA's conclusion that there no obstacles to granting passports to funds in countries including Canada, Guernsey and Japan while Hong Kong and Singapore also got the approval for alternative investment funds alone.
