The Strasbourg Court elevates the protection of journalistic sources in absolute terms, mainly on the needs of investigations and criminal trial; so, the Court does not allow interference of the judiciary in the activity of the reporter justified by the need to uncover the source of the information that the reporters are in possession, even when they have obtained and disseminated confidential data, a secret investigation

La Corte di Strasburgo eleva la tutela delle fonti giornalistiche a valore assoluto, prevalente sulle esigenze d’indagine e di accertamento processuale; così, non si ammettono ingerenze del potere giudiziario nell’attività dei reporter giustificate dalla necessità di scoprire l’origine delle informazioni di cui i cronisti sono in possesso, nemmeno quando questi ultimi hanno ottenuto e diffuso dati riservati, coperti da segreto istruttorio.
