  • The article reports the move by the African Development Bank (AfDB) as of September 2016 to extend its 1.34 billion dollar loan facilities to utility firm Eskom to support its capital expenditure plan. The loan is guaranteed by the government of South Africa. The deal also involved such banks as Bank of China, CaixaBank, and Citibank. Also cited are comments from AfDB's Annemarie Mecca and law firm Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy's Phillip Fletcher on the deal.
