    In this text we intend to discuss the multiple meanings attributed to celebrating through History. From a review of the historiography on the festivities, we explore the different ways with which they have been approached by the writing of the History. Throughout the text, we propose both to present different meanings for the feature act and to take it like a way of living and writing History.

    Neste texto discutimos os múltiplos sentidos que historicamente foram atribuídos ao festejar. A partir de uma revisão da historiografia sobre as festas tratamos das diferentes formas com que elas têm sido abordadas pela escrita da história. Ao longo do texto propomos não só outros sentidos para o ato festivo, como também pretendemos tomá-lo como uma forma de viver e de escrever a história.
