The people which lose superiority often lose their own language as well, they adopt the foreign language and they become bilingual at first and monolingual afterwards. On the contrary, the people who gain the sovereignty not always regain back their own culture, think of Ireland for example. But as it has happened in Quebec, we should, by exercising our autonomy rigths, establish the priority of the Basque language, not only in school but also, and very quickly, in the normal social use.
Nagusitasuna galdu duten herriek, askotan herri hizkuntza ere galdu dute, kanpoko hizkuntza hartuz, elebitasunean lehenik eta gero elebakartasunean. Subiranotasuna irabazi duten herriek ez dute beti jatorrizko kultura berreskuratu. Adibidez, Irlandan. Quebec herrialdearen gisa, daukagun autonomiaz baliatuz, herri hizkuntzaren lehentasuna finkatu behar dugu, ez bakarrik ikaskuntzan, baita ere, eta berehala, gizarte erabileran.
