Resumen de Moving forward

Lee Vinsel

  • In a 2014 opinion column in The New York Times, the Nobel Prize–winning economist Paul Krugman declared that, with the country still in post-2008 economic doldrums, it is "a very good time to invest in infrastructure." Yet, despite a number of recent appeals to revive and improve the country's physical support systems, there is reluctance among legislators and the public to commit the necessary funds to do so. It would seem that the United States, a nation that is otherwise obsessed with technological innovation, is not so keen on maintaining the technology it has already built. Henry Petroski examines this tension between creation and neglect in his new book, The Road Taken.
