La Iglesia Católica se opone reiteradamen te al reconocimiento jurídico de la adopción por parte de parejas homosexuales. Estima que ello no redunda en interés del menor por los motivos que este artículo expone. Y, dado que el ordenamiento canónico canoniza lo establecido por las legislaciones civiles en lo referente a la constitu ción de la adopción, estimamos que el c. 110 debe ser reformado, limitando la canoni zación de leyes civiles sobre la adopción que desnaturalicen no sólo el instituto de la adopción sino el mismo matrimonio, tal como la Iglesia Católica lo entiende y defiende.

The Catholic Church is repeatedly opposed to juridical recognition of adoption by homosexual couples. She does not consider it a benefit for the interest of the child, because of the reasons exposed in this article. And, since Canon Law canonizes what is established by civil laws in the matter of adoption, we consider that C. 110 must be reformed to prevent canonization of civil laws about adoption that may distort not only the institution of adoption but also marriage itself, as the Catholic Church understands it.
