Este trabajo trata de exponer gráficamente la influencia del cepillado durante el tratamiento de ortodoncia para la remoción de la placa dental, mantenimiento de encías sanas, y así coadyuvar a un buen resultado final. Se deja constancia de la dificultad real que presenta la higiene dental cuando se llevan aparatos fijos, y de la importancia de la motivación del paciente, que le impulse a observar el cuidado estricto de su higiene.
Al mismo tiempo, se comparan dos cepillos completamente distintos, uno convencional 10x4, y otro con movimientos rotatorios alrededor de su eje central.
Se llega a una conclusiones, entre las cuales está el diseño de un cepillo ideal, sugerido por los resultados del estudio.
This study is oriented in order to express graphically the influence of tooth brushing during orthodontic treatment, to remove dental plaque, to prevent periodontal disease to help in achieving a good final result.
lt makes relevant the real difficulty that represents to maintain a good dental hygiene when fixed appliances are used. Patient motivation is of paramount importance in keeping a strict hygienic care.
Two different types of tooth brushes are compared, a conventional 10 x 4 and a round type with rotating movement around the central axis.
Among the conclussions, there is a design of an ideal toothbrush suggested by the results of the present study.
