The participants to this roundtable examine and discuss the main interests of Michael Freeden's extensive intellectual and academic production. The three contributors (Ferrari, Ricciardi and Tagliaferri) underline how one of the most important traits of Freeden's work is the ability to engage with different disciplinary fields. The second key feature relates to Freeden's contribution to the study of the evolution of British and European liberalism from the XIX century to the present. Finally, the contributors all emphasize Freeden's interest for a non-ideological study of ideology. In this regard, Freeden can be considered one of the most original living political theorists, whose work is characterized by a cunning ability to intertwine and merge political and intellectual concepts and categories.
