Resumen de Novas Interpretações nas Paisagens do Subúrbio Carioca: da Fábrica ao Ócio, do Labor ao Lazer

  This work has as main objective the study and analysis of the transformations that have occurred over the past decades a symbol of Rio’s suburban landscape and changing their interpretation over time. In this case, it is the analysis of the symbolic change of an old existing textile mill in Rio’s north zone, which turned into a major shopping mall. His new role introduced new practices and urban values previously did not exist in the locality, which enabled the symbolic and cultural reinterpretation in the suburbs of the city of Rio de Janeiro.

  Este trabalho possui como objetivo principal o estudo e a análise das transformações ocorridas durante as últimas décadas em um símbolo da paisagem suburbana carioca e a mudança de sua interpretação, conforme o tempo. Neste caso, trata-se da análise da mudança simbólica de uma antiga fábrica de tecidos existente na Zona Norte carioca, que se transformou em um grande shopping center. Sua nova função introduziu novas práticas e valores urbanos antes não existentes na localidade, que possibilitaram a reinterpretação simbólica e cultural do subúrbio da cidade do Rio de Janeiro.
