  • Resumen
    • Although split-plot experiments are encountered in many industrial settings, the literature for second-order response surface designs usually assumes a completely randomized design. By choosing the correct design for response surface experiments, the ordinary least-squares estimates of the model can be guaranteed to be equivalent to the generalized least-squares estimates. Designs meeting this requirement are used here to derive conditions for exact tests of most of the model parameters. Comparisons are done between the exact estimators, estimators based on replicated points, and estimators using restricted maximum likelihood estimators.
