  • Resumen
    • This paper presents numerical simulations using sample path method to calculate performance measures, such as expected value and variance of the transient throughput, and the probability that measures the delivery in time for serial unreliable work centers. Such approaches are based on the assumptions that up times and down times are i.i.d., all machines have the same production rate µ and without interstage buffer. Numerical experiments that compare values of such performance measures by different methods are presented in terms of serial unreliable work centers cited from literature. The sensitivity of such measures with respect to either mean up time or mean down time is also presented to investigate how and how much improvement can be achieved in terms of such a system.
