Revivir el pasado a través del arte con el fin de reflexionar sobre los hechos históricos, es un proceso de investigación-creación utilizado por algunos artistas contemporá- neos. Esta práctica, denominada materialización del pasado a través de la imagen, está relacionada con la concepción abierta de la historia de Walter Benjamin y con el recuerdo activo y subjetivo del individuo. Dentro de todas las posibilidades de expresión artística, una opción para motivar el recuerdo es el arte en la ciudad, donde la mirada está habituada a lo cotidiano, y la extrañeza producida por la intervención provoca una reestructuración conceptual. El espectador se encuentra con una situación o imagen inesperada en el lugar, una ruptura con lo que le es habitual. En el presente trabajo se pretende realizar un estudio sobre el concepto del recuerdo y su materialización en el arte contemporáneo por diferentes artistas mediante la intervención artística en la ciudad.

Relive the past through art in order to reflect on the historical facts, it is a researchcreation process used by some contemporary artists. This practice, called materialization of the past through image, is related to the open conception of history of Walter Benjamin and the active individual and subjective memory. Among all the possibilities for artistic expression, an option to motivate the memory is art in the city, where the eye gets used to the everyday, and the strangeness produced by the intervention causes a conceptual restructuring. The viewer encounters an unexpected situation or image in place, a break with what is usual. In the present work it is to conduct a study on the concept of memory and its materialization in contemporary art by different artists through artistic intervention in the city.
