Taxonomía de preguntas perlocucionarias en La mujer loca de Juan José Millás

    En conformidad con lo que Hans-Georg Gadamer advierte en Truth and Method, la estructura de una pregunta se halla, como mínimo, implícita, al establecer alguna modalidad de disquisición racional. Por consiguiente, dichas elucidaciones se hallan estructuradas bajo la forma de preguntas. Este juicio hermenéutico se ejemplifica a lo largo de las interacciones emprendidas entre la mayoría de los personajes de la novela La mujer loca de Juan José Millás.

    Aunque gran parte de las preguntas formuladas por dichos personajes se prestan a ser calificadas de actos perlocucionarios, estos interrogantes parecen exigir respuestas satisfactorias, y en consecuencia se convierten, a su vez, en actos ilocucionarios. Ahora bien, puesto que, con frecuencia, no se ofrecen contestaciones a semejantes preguntas, los personajes involucrados en las respectivas transacciones pragmáticas se ven amenazados por un agobiante nihilismo existencial, que afecta a la historia relatada por el narrador heterodiegético de La mujer loca

    As Hans-Georg Gadamer states in Truth an Method, the structure of a question is at least implicitly present in all episodes that involve an exercise of rational capacities. Therefore, rational activity bears the structure of a question. Such a hermeneutic statement is exemplified by the interactions established among most of the characters in Juan José Millás’ novel La mujer loca. Although these characters formulate a variety of questions that could be considered perlocutionary acts, they seem to require certain satisfactory answers. If that is the case, the previous questions become ilocutionary acts and the responses given to them would be perlocutionary, by all means. However, not always the most relevant questions formulated by the characters of this novel receive a proper answer and in some instances, no response is offered at all. Such an absence of pragmatic communication contributes to emphasize the nihilistic development of the story narrated in La mujer loca
