Resumen de ARTÍCULO 6. CONSERVACIÓN DE LOS DERECHOS ADQUIRIDOS Y PAGO DE PRESTACIONES EN EL EXTRANJERO

El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar el artículo 6 del Convenio Multilateral Iberoamericano de Seguridad Social, encargado de regular uno de los principios básicos de la coordinación: el principio de exportación de prestaciones. De acuerdo con el mismo, los nacionales de un Estado Parte tienen derecho a que se les abonen las prestaciones reconocidas en otro Estado Parte. Concretamente, este principio establece que las prestaciones en metálico debidas en virtud de la legislación de uno o varios Estados miembros Parte del Convenio no estarán sujetas a reducción, modificación, suspensión, supresión o confiscación por el hecho de que el beneficiario o los miembros de su situación familiar residan en un Estado miembro distinto de aquel en el que se encuentra la institución deudora.

The aim of this paper is to to analyzeArticle 6 of the Iberoamerican Multilateral Agreement on Social Security, which lays down one of the major principles of the coordination: the export principle of benefits. According to this principle, nationals of one State Part in the Convention are entitled to have their benefit paid in any other one State Part. Specifically, this principle provides that cash benefits payable under the legislation of one or more Iberoamerican States Part in the Convention shall not be subject to any reduction, amendment, suspension, withdrawal or confiscation on account of the fact that the beneficiary or the members of their family status family reside in a Member State other than that in which the institution responsible for providing benefits is situated.
