  No hay una literatura o un arte femeninos. Tampoco hay una literatura o un arte masculinos. Hay literatura escrita y arte hecho por mujeres y hombres que sólo resistirán el paso del tiempo si consiguen tratar los grandes temas de la condición humana con una singularidad tal que las marque como únicas, por el estilo inconfundible de sus autores. Lo que sí es cierto es que –salvo excepciones--la elección del material a trabajar es distinta en hombres y mujeres, pues la “experiencia vivida” no es igual para ambos sexos y la  elaboración de esa experiencia no sigue ni los mismos caminos ni tiene los mismos énfasis en unos y otras. A esta discusión nos dedicamos en el Área de Estudios de la Mujer de la FACES, UCV, durante un año, las autoras que escribimos aquí nuestras reflexiones sobre mujeres escritoras y artistas de diversos países y épocas.

  There is no female literature or art or a male literature or art. There are written literature and art made by women and men who only stand the test of time if they get on the big issues of the human condition with a singularity that makes them unique in the unmistakable style of the authors.

  What is certain is that, with few exceptions, the choice of material to work is different in men and women, as the «lived experience» is not the same for both sexes, and processing that experience does not follow the same paths nor has the same emphasis on men and women. In this discussion we are dedicated in the area of Women’s Studies of the FACES, UCV, for a year, the female authors who write here our thoughts on women writers and artists from different countries and eras.
