    Las relaciones del Estado y la Iglesia Católica en Chile entre 1938 y 1946 se desarrollaron en el establecimiento del marco constitucional de la Carta de 1925, que le permitieron su desenvolvi­miento y reafirmaron los lazos amistosos generados entre el poder eclesiástico y el poder civil. Los gobiernos radicales de Pedro Aguirre Cerda y de Juan Antonio Ríos demostraron una permanente actitud de respeto y cercanía con la institución religiosa, sus autoridades y sus miembros. De igual modo, los obispos y los clérigos tuvieron muestras afables con las autoridades administrativas y las de otras áreas del país.

    Se cebe considerar que el arzobispo metropolitano de la capital chilena ha asumido tradicionalmerte la representación de la Iglesia nacional para todas las situaciones y acciones por las cuales la institución religiosa se relaciona con el Estado, el gobierno de turno y la sociedad chilenos.

    The relationship between the State and the Catholic Church in Chile between 1938 and 1946 took place in the establishment of the constitutional framework of the Charter of 1925, which allowed the country's development and reaffirmed the friendly ties between the ecclesiastical and civil powers. The Radical Governments of Pedro Aguirre Cerda and Juan Antonio Ríos owned a permanent attitude of respect and closeness to the religious institution, its officers and its members. Similarly, bishops and clergy were affable samples with administrative and other areas of me country.

    It must be considered that the Metropolitan Archbishop of the Chilean capital has traditionally taken the representation of the National Church for all situations and actions by which the religious institution is related to the State, the government of the day and Chilean society.
