    L’article retrace le parcours de la notion de réseau dans le domaine de l’éducation, tout en s’interrogeant sur la pertinence de son utilisation dans le champ : qu’apporte ce concept à la situation éducative et notamment dans sa dimension sociale ? L’école de Jules Ferry, close et enfermée dans une relation pédagogique unique, unidirectionnelle, est contestée à la fois de l’extérieur (Illich) mais aussi de l’intérieur (Freinet). Le concept de « réseau » apporte à partir des années 1970 une réponse politique quant à une possible nouvelle forme scolaire, plus ouverte, horizontale, coopérative. Parallèlement, la technique pénètre progressivement le système scolaire grâce à des plans nationaux d’équipement, tout d’abord par l’audiovisuel, puis l’informatique. L’histoire de l’éducation montre qu’elle aura connu, au fil des siècles, de lentes évolutions de la forme scolaire : la déclinaison technologique du concept de réseau aura notamment mis cette forme scolaire à l’épreuve du numérique.

    The article is about the network concept in the field of education, while questioning the appropriateness of its use in the field: what brings this concept to the educational situation and particularly its social dimension? The school of Jules Ferry, closed and locked in a unidirectional unique pedagogical relationship is challenged both from the outside (Illich) but also from the inside (Freinet). The concept of «network» brings from the 1970s a political answer about a possible new, more open school form, horizontal, cooperative. Meanwhile, the technical gradually enters the school system through national equipment plans, first by audiovisual, then by informatics. The history of education shows that there have been, over the centuries, slow changes in educational forms. Then, what about educational form, networks and information and communication technics ?
