Revenue for the first six months was [Euro] 1.9bn ($2.5bn*). This was split at [Euro] 929.3m for Q1 2013 and [Euro] 951.4m for Q2. Operating income was at [Euro] 244m; split [Euro] 117m in the first quarter and [Euro] 127m in Q2 2013. This is compared to [Euro] 126m and [Euro] 139m in 2012.
"The uptick in building in the US has led to stronger sales in filtration, rubber," [Gilles Michel] explained. "Globally business is growing for talc, therefore performance and filtration is going well," he added.
"This stability owes much to growth in Asia and emerging countries. There has a contraction of 3.8% in more mature countries," Michel explained. "The paper making industry in mature countries is down, but emerging countries has increased."
