  • Resumen
    • Hypersensitivity reactions to antineoplastic drugs are well known and relatively frequent with some drugs used in the treatment of oncohematologic patients (platinum derivative, taxanes...). The appearance of these hypersensitivity reactions often require a discontinuation of the provoking medication compromising the efFIcacy of the treatment. Rapid desensitization protocols present a validated option to be used in patients that suffer a hypersensitivity reaction in order to complete the treatment.

Hypersensitivity to calcium folinate has rarely been reported in the literature. In this paper, we report a case of hypersensitivity reaction secondary to calcium folinate administration as rescue therapy of high dose methotrexate (HDMTX) in a hematologic patient diagnosed of ALL. We describe the preparation and administration of the desensitization protocol, which was carried out with no incidences and allowed the patient to complete the HDMTX treatment
