The rest of [James Durrans] graphite is imported from Norway and occasionally from other graphite producing countries. However, as natural graphite material can be of varying quality, Durrans has had to overcome product inconsistencies.
"Not everyone wants to deal with a middle man," [Brown] told IM. "But we just look at it as added value. If a company is looking for a quality guarantee, instead of buying directly from a supplier it can choose to come through us." "We not only purify the product but make sure it's consistent in grading. We have blending and grading facilities here, so we can take high carbons and low carbons and mix and match them for the grading specification required," Brown told IM.
