  • Resumen
    • Sirius has previously asked for a deferral to its application, which the North York Moors National Park Authority (NYMNPA) said was provided "reluctantly" due to the potential uncertainty this could cause.

"For example, Whitby and part of the area around it (the Whitby Enclave) is completely surrounded by the National Park. As we hold mineral rights in the Whitby Enclave we need to apply for permission to mine underground there," Sirius explained to IM.

Commenting on the future potential for this project, Chris Fraser, Sirius CEO, said: "The company is making good progress towards the approvals needed for the York Potash Project and the involvement of the County Council is unlikely to impact our current timescales given its minerals planning experience."
