  • Resumen
    • Numan Kalbitemiz Bodur, Eti Mine's strategy development director, told delegates that the company, which had a production capacity of 570,000 tpa in 2000, and now has a capacity of 2.13m tpa, plans to expand to 5.5m tpa in the next 10 years.

"Eti's strategy is to lead the development of the market by finding new boron products and uses, rather than waiting for the growth of the boron market," [Bodur] said.

In comparison, the MENA region produced 4% of soda ash in 2012, and China produced 43% of global soda ash, meaning that while the MENA region is a net importer China is a net exporter. North America produced 22% of global soda ash
