  • Resumen
    • "You need to have a good basic raw material and you have to have the right processes, for instance, the best jet milling process to be able to produce good lamellar talc products and talc powders for the polymer industry," he added.

"There are also some coarser products in some applications. Mostly high quality lamellar talc powders are a result of having good lamellar raw materials and having a good delamination processes," [Gerhard Fraundorfer] said.

"I think that's not really the way, the strategy of producers offering finer and finer grades. I think in terms of the lamellarity of talc powder there is a certain stage that the fineness and the platy shape of talc powder give the best enhancements in plastic products. For instance, to produce a 1 micron talc product doesn't really make sense - it's just a marketing strategy," he said.
