  • The new company, with a capitalisation of 200m Algerian Dinars($2.5m*) was formed on 2 December as a joint venture between Sonatrach (60% split equally between its subsidiaries NPHS, ENTP, and ENAFOR) and Manadjim El Djazair (Manal), through its subsidiary Entreprise Nationale des Produits Miniers Non-Ferreux et des Substances Utiles (ENOF 40%).

    "Despite the fact that the notice expired, there were legal issues to be followed and sorted out [before the actual revocation could take effect]" Professor Muhongo, Tanzania's Energy and Minerals Minister, said.

    "We hope it does not come to that," said Fluorspar managing director, Nico Spangenberg, "but the recently announced increases will obviously have an impact on our future cost structure."'
