    In emerging market India, meanwhile, the depreciation of the rupee made imports more expensive, [Iluka] said, also mentioning the strike in Morbi, where around 600 ceramics industrial units went on strike for 23 days in December. This, Iluka said, "depressed demand in this important, emerging market".

    "We expect to run the mineral separation plant over the course of the year, at lower utilisation rates, as was the case in 2013, as demand progressively recovers," an Iluka spokesman said. "The exact configuration, whether one month on, one month off is a matter for operational determination".
