Resumen de “Home”: Una herramienta para contribuir a la educación por un futuro sostenible

“Home” es una película del francés Yann Arthus-Bertrand estrenada el 5 de junio de 2009 que es una auténtica colección de impresionantes imágenes. El objetivo de la misma es sensibilizar sobre la escasez de recursos, los problemas ecológicos y el cambio climático que origina la actividad humana descontrolada. Es una película de distribución gratuita que puede ser visionada en youtube íntegramente y en su versión en español, cuenta con la voz de Salma Hayek.
“Home” ha sido empleada en una experiencia docente cuyos objetivos son que los alumnos adquieran conciencia de las interrelaciones existentes entre la naturaleza y el ser humano, que comprendan que los aspectos medioambientales tienen un origen común en la historia natural del planeta y fomentar así el desarrollo de una educación por un futuro sostenible. A alumnos de primer curso de los Grados en Ciencias Ambientales y Química se les encomendó el visionado de “Home” y responder a una serie de cuestiones: una relativa a las emociones sentidas durante el visionado de la película, otras relativas a nociones científicas y otras de reflexión ante diferentes expresiones empleadas en la película. Todas ellas tenían limitado el número de palabras para fomentar la capacidad de síntesis. Aunque “Home” tiene un marcado carácter ambientalista, no puede distinguirse si el alumno es estudiante del grado de Ciencias Ambientales o de Química. Se constata que “Home” es una herramienta que contribuye a la formación de ciudadanos conscientes de los problemas globales a los que se enfrenta la humanidad.

"Home" is a film by Yann Arthus-Bertrand released on June 5 2009, which is an authentic collection of stunning images. The aim of it is awareness of resource shortages, environmental problems and climate change that causes uncontrolled human activity. It's a movie for free distribution that may be viewed on youtube in full in its Spanish version features the voice of Salma Hayek.
This manuscript describes the learning experience using "Home". The aim was focused, among other things, that the students became aware of the many interrelationships and environmental aspects have a common origin in the natural history of the planet. A first-year students in Grades in Environmental Science and Chemistry were entrusted with the viewing of "Home" and answer a series of questions: one dealing with the emotions felt when watching the film, other notions relating to scientific and other for reflection on various terms used in the film. All had limited the number of words to buil d the capacity of synthesis. Although "Home" has a marked environmental character, cannot distinguish whether the student studies Environmental Science or Chemistry degree. It notes that "Home" is a tool that contributes to the formation of citizens aware of the global problems facing humanity.
