    Reino Unido decidió el 23 de junio de 2016, mediante un referéndum, abandonar la Unión Europea. El Brexit, como así ha sido bauitzado este fenómeno, supondrá grandes cambios en prácticamente todos los sectores, desde la economía hasta la política. A partir de ahora, se abre un periodo de negociación entre ambas partes que marcará el futuro de Reino Unido, pero también el de la Unión Europea que, si la situación no cambia, perderá a uno de sus socios más importantes. El presente trabajo analiza, a partir del estudio de la normativa europea vigente y de las Sentencias más relevantes del Tribunal de Justicia de la Unión Europea sobre la materia, las posibles consecuencias en el deporte británico de una eventual salida de Reino Unido de la Unión Europea. La Premier League se ha convertido en uno de los espectáculos de mayor repercusión y el Brexit tendrá un fuerte impacto en su futuro más inmediato.

    United Kingdom decided on 23 June 2016, by referendum, to leave the European Union. Brexit, as it has been baptized this phenomenon, will involve great changes in practically all sectors, from the economy to the policy. Hereinafter, a period of negotiation between the both parts is now openeed and it will change the future of the United Kingdom, but also the future of the European Union which, if the situation does not change, will lose one of its most important partners. This paper analyzes, from the study of the current European regulations and the most relevant Judgements of the Court of Justice of the European Union on the matter, the possible consequences in the British sport of a possible exit from the United Kingdom of the European Union. Premier League has become one of the sporting events of greater repercussion all over the world and Brexit will have a strong impact on its immediate future.
