    This article is an anthropological reflection on personal identity (the self). The idea of the self has undergone a series of metamorphoses since the Renaissance until post-modernism, which have completely transformed its nature and place in this world. Starting from the idea of man as a paradoxal animal, dialectical synthesis of finitude and infinitude, the author shows us the way from the self as Cod's image and semblance (theocentrism) through the titanic self (anthropocentrism) to its post-modern split (multicentrism). We are now facing the split of the self, which situates us in a new era of the spirit.

    Aquest treball és una reflexió antropològica al voltant de la identitat personal (jo). La idea del jo ha experimentat una sèrie de metamorfosis des del Renaixement fins a la postmodernitat que han transformat completament la seva natura i el seu lloc en el món. Partint de la idea de l'home com animal paradoxal, síntesi dialèctica de finitud i d'infinitud, l'autor recorre el camí que va del jo com a imatge i semblança de Déu (teocentrisme), al jo titànic (l'antropocentrisme) fins a la seva descomposició del jo que ens situa en una nova etapa de l'esperit.
