Her previous article represented an approach to the social dimension of health. In this second part, the author is interested in the social dimension of disease, approaching this issue from the "models" as significant representations. In this issue, she basically follows F. Laplantine for his peculiar itinerary when constructing some models: the literary essay is the declaration of the diseased person. The understanding of the disease as a social issue leads us to deal with it from the sociology of the disease, also called the sociology of health. From this starting point, the article stands out the role of those social factors that intervene in the disease and the pains that derive frsm it. In the last section, on "social protection",the author poses a question: Why, in a given society, is there the need for social protection? A question that invites readers to elaborate their own answer.

L'article anterior d'aquesta sèrie feia una apromixació a la dimensió social de la salut. Aquesta segona part s'interessa per la dimensió social de la malaltia, abordant el tema des dels "models" com a representacions significatives. Sobre aquesta qüestió, se segueix, fonamentalment, F. Laplantine, per la seva peculiar trajectòria a l'hora de construir uns models: el relat literari és el testimoni de la persona malalta.
La comprensió de la malaltia com a qüestió social ens porta a tractar el tema des de la sociologia de la malaltia, que també podem anomenar sociologia de la salut. A partir d'aquí, l'article vol ressaltar el paper dels factors socials que intervenen en la malaltia i els patiments que es desencadenen. El darrer apartat, sobre "la protecció social", s'enceta amb un interrogant: Per què en una determinada societat sorgeix la necessitat d'una protecció social? Interrogant que convida el lector a elaborar la seva pròpia resposta.
