    Documents per a la història de l’emigració col·lectiva catalana al port mexicà de Campeche, la més antiga en aquest país. Els catalans s’hi van començar a establir el 1778, quan Carles III autoritzà el lliure comerç amb Amèrica, i van començar a constituir una important base d’emigrants d’elevat nivell socioeconò- mic, dedicats al comerç.

    Documents on the history of the mass emigration of Catalans to the Mexican port of Campeche, the oldest in the country. Catalans began to settle there in 1778 when Charles III of Spain authorised free trade with America, and they started to build up an important base of emigrants with a high socio-economic level, dedicated to commerce.
