  • Resumen
    • Magnesia mining company, Terna Mag SA, part of the GEK Terna group, has exported approximately 2,500 tonnes of magnesite from the Kymassi Port in Greece, marking the first shipment from the Mantoudi region in 15 years.

"Concerning past magnesia activity, there is a long tradition of magnesite mining and magnesia processing in the area," a company spokeswoman told IM.

The company, which produces caustic calcined magnesia, dead burned (sintered) magnesia, magnesium carbonate (raw magnesite) and basic monolithic refractories, has decreased its raw material cost (kiln feed magnesite) with investments in new beneficiation technologies, the use of bio-fuels in its kilns and the utilisation of its old magnesite stock piles.
