The large peripheral neighborhoods created under the umbrella of "developmentalism" of the 60's created a landscape of inspiration for the film industry. Cinema embraced the rough and inhospitable imagery of the periphery during the years of the Spanish democratic transition, where marginalization was not only geographical, but fundamentally social.
