  • While there remain well documented challenges to China's unconventional oil and gas resource development, it seems increasingly a matter of ''when'' rather than ''if'' this will happen.

    China's proppants market was the topic of a presentation by IM Research the 20th Bauxite Alumina Conference, in Miami, US, held in February, drawing on preliminary findings from a forthcoming multi-client report ''China's Proppants Market: Raw Material, Supply, Consumption''.

    ''We started looking into this a year and a half ago,'' CEO Halil Demirel told IM. ''We do business there already and we are very close to this market,'' he added.
