Esta investigación explora la imagen mental o percepción que los jóvenes españoles tienen de las ONG laicas que trabajan por la infancia en la cooperación internacional al desarrollo. Se han empleado las técnicas del grupo de discusión y la entrevista en profundidad. Los resultados indican una imagen positiva general hacia estas ONG, aunque está distorsionada, en buena medida, y no coincide con la identidad real organizacional.
La percepción es que trabajan con un enfoque caritativo, tutelar y de atención, cuando, en realidad, se rigen por un enfoque integral de derechos humanos, sobre el que gira su visión y misión organizacional

This research explores the mental image or perception that young Spanish people have of secular NGOs that work for children in the area of international cooperation for development. The techniques used have been the focus group and the in-depth interview. Results indicate a general positive image towards these NGOs, although it is largely distorted, and does not coincide with the real organizational identity. The perception is that they work under a charitable, tutelary and assistance approach, when, actually, they are based on an integral human rights approach, which is the centre of the organizational vision and mission
