The delusions in nonclinical populations are experiences that happen through out a continuum, from the proneness to have delusional ideas to the opposite, where the pathological forms are placed. The positioning along the continuum is determined by the beliefs, the worries it causes and the degree of certainty they imply. Objective: To analyse the role of the metacognitive beliefs in the transitional process from “normal” delirious phenomena to pathological forms. Method: N= 387 university students 18 to 43 of age (M= 20.99; SD= 2.46). The Peters Delusions Inventory (PDI-21; Peters et al., 2004) and the Metacognitions Questionnaire (MCQ-30; Wells & Cartwright-Hatton, 2004) were applied in order to know the participant's metacognitive pattern. Results: The proneness to delusion, both in a global form and analysing each of its dimensions by themselves – Discomfort, Worry and Certainty –, is linked to the metacognitive beliefs. The results are discussed with the current discoveries in publications.
