  Antes de que finalice este año 2016 la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) deberá haber elegido a un nuevo secretario general. A un año vista se iniciaron los procedimientos necesarios para la presentación, selección y finalmente elección del candidato. En la Asamblea General de septiembre de 2015 se debatieron las normas que deben regir el proceso de selección. Algunas voces críticas han mostrado su disconformidad con la opacidad del proceso por lo que se aboga por su reforma y actualización, destacando el movimiento que respalda la elección de una mujer como nueva secretaria general de la Organización por primera vez en sus 70 años de historia. España como miembro no permanente del Consejo de Seguridad debe participar de manera activa en estas reformas.

  Before the end of this year 2016 the United Nations Organization shall have appointed a new Secretary General. A view year the procedures for the submission, selection and finally the appointment of the candidate have already begun. In the General Assembly this year were discussed the rules governing the selection process. Some critics have expressed their dissatisfaction with the opacity of the process so it calls for reform and renovation, highlighting the movement that backs the election of a woman as the new Secretary General of the Organization for the first time in its 70-year history. Spain as a nonpermanent member of the Security Council should participate actively in these reforms
