Se presenta la exposición instalada en el Museo Minero de Riotinto sobre la Imprenta Chaparro, donada a la Fundación Río Tinto. El Archivo Histórico Minero acogió los documentos y el Museo Minero los bienes muebles. Esta tipografía estuvo operativa durante casi todo el siglo XX. En ella se imprimieron buena parte de los impresos generados en la Cuenca Minera de Riotinto (Huelva), tanto para cubrir las necesidades personales y profesionales de los habitantes de la zona, como las actividades lúdicas, deportivas, los movimientos sociales e incluso políticos. Esta documentación posibilita una aproximación al conocimiento de la vida cotidiana de la cuenca minera, siendo uno de los aspectos más interesantes la relación del movimiento obrero con la empresa Rio Tinto Co. Ltd. La importancia patrimonial de la Imprenta ha sido reconocida por la Junta de Andalucía con la Declaración de Bien de Interés Cultural.
Presentation of the Imprenta Chaparro exhibition at the Riotinto Mining Museum, donated to the Rio Tinto Foundation. The documents are kept in the Historical Mining Archive while the artefacts are in the Mining Museum. This typographer's was in operation throughout most of the 20th century. It printed many of the forms generated in the Riotinto mining area (Huelva), and catered for the personal and professional needs of the local population, and for leisure, sporting, social and even political activities This documentation provides an opportunity to become familiar with daily life in the mining community. One of its most interesting aspects is the relationship of the workers’ associations with Rio Tinto Co. Ltd. The importance of Imprenta, regarding its heritage value, was acknowledged by the Regional Government of Andalusia when it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest.
