Los grupos de autodefensa: ¿crisis del poder del Estado?

    A principios del año 2013 se presenció en nuestro país el surgimiento de grupos de autodefensa: civiles organizados con el fin de procurarse una seguridad que el Estado no ha sido capaz de ofrecerles ante los ataques de la delincuencia organizada. Al ejercer justicia, sin embargo, estos grupos están debilitando el poder coercitivo del Estado, situación que este último no permitirá. Por ello, la reacción estatal ha sido etiquetar a los integrantes de estas organizaciones como delincuentes a fin de aprehenderlos como tales, en el momento en que lo considere conveniente a sus intereses.

    At the beginning of this year (2013), our country witnessed the appearance of self-defense groups: civilians organized in order to obtain the security that the State has not been able to offer them in protecting them against the attacks from organized crime. As they exercise justice, however, these groups are weakening the coercive power of the State, situation that will not be allowed. Therefore, the state’s reaction has been to label the members of these organizations as criminals in order to apprehend them as such, when it considers convenient to its interests.
