    Three manuscripts — Scorialensis Q I 8 (S), Guelferbytanus Gud. Lat. 10 (G) and Vindobonensis 3134 Han. (W) — contain a text entitled « Excerpts from the Book of Aristotle’s Ethics, according to the Latin translation from the Arabic » (Excerpta de libro Aristotelis Ethicorum secundum translationem de arabico in latinum), that have been actually drawn from Averroes’Middle Commentary on the Nicomachean Ethics. The purpose of this paper is to provide a critical edition of these excerpts; to supply the translation of these Excerpts; to consider the value of S, G and W for the critical edition of Averroes’Commentary; to identify the passages of Averroes’Commentary that have been utilized by the excerptor, and to characterize them briefly.

(W) — contiennent un texte intitulé « Extraits du livre des Éthiques d’Aristote, d’après la traduction latine de l’arabe » (Excerpta de libro Aristotelis Ethicorum secundum translationem de arabico in latinum), tirés en réalité du Commentaire moyen d’Averroès à l’Éthique à Nicomaque. L’objet de cette recherche est de proposer une édition de ces extraits ; d’en fournir une traduction ; de discuter de la valeur éventuelle de S, G et W pour l’établissement du Commentaire d’Averroès ; d’identifier les passages du Commentaire d’Averroès utilisés par l’excerpteur, et d’en présenter brièvement les caractéristiques.
