Resumen de A numerical control system for machine tools with application to a flame cutter
The paper describes a control system where the preparation of input data to the digital control unit can be carried out both manually and by means of a digital computer. Based upon the specific application - the numerically controlled flame-cutter-a description is given of the system at work. The design of the digital control unit is briefly outlined. In the ship-building industry much of the construction and design work may be based to some extent on numerical methods. The results of such computations can be used directly by the digital control unit. A few examples show how the control system combined with a digital computer can bring about great production savings in a modern shipyard.
