    Brasil es un país con un creciente peso en la arena internacional: tanto en calidad de economía emergente, como en su papel de líder regional, busca su sitio en la gobernanza mundial. Posee sin embargo profundas contradicciones internas marcadas por las acuciantes disparidades que conviven con el crecimiento económico y la innovación, lo que le ha hecho tomar consciencia de la importancia del desarrollo.

    Su estrategia geopolítica responde por ello tanto a intereses como a valores, y depende en gran medida de su proyección regional. Examinaremos cómo han evolucionado sus relaciones regionales y con los otros BRICS, y en qué medida se presenta como un global player.

    Brazil is a country with an increasing weight in the international arena. As one of the emerging economies in the BRICS group, and with its role as a regional leader, Brazil is aiming for a relevant role in the global governance. Along with this projection, the country has to face several internal contradictions such as inequality, which have also served him to claim development as a crucial part of his foreign relations.

    His geopolitical projection answers to interests and values, and the relevance of this actor in multilateral forums keeps growing. We will examine the evolution of his relations with the BRICS and with his regional neighbours, and how this country approaches the role of global player.
