This article reports on the development of a camera that will increase night vision. Swedish physicist Anders Ångström discovered the night sky always has a glow to it even if the human eye can't see it. Camera sensors made with germanium crystals can see the glow but making the sensors out of the material is expensive and slow. A change in engineering of the sensors has led to a better alternative that will be marketed in the U.S. in 2008.
