This article presents several winners of the 2007 Nobel Prizes including Mario Capecchi of the University of Utah who won with others for their "knockout" process that inactivates genes to reveal their true functions. Albert Fert and Peter Grünberg in Germany won the Physics Prize, Gerhard Ertl of Berlin won the Chemistry Prize and the Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change (IPCC) and former U.S. President Al Gore won the Peace Prize.
