  • This article looks at the English language and says that words used the most evolve the most slowly. A study of English verb forms showed that only one rule remains from the ancient British and that is the adding of "ed" to a verb to denote past tense. A study of irregular verbs showed that 98 of the 177 verbs they found had changed form. The experts say the next verb to change will be "wed," which will change to wedded.
