This article reports on study that looked to see if the pesticide, Bt or Bacillus thruingiensis, which is harmless to most organisms except plant eating insects, may have produced an immunity in the pests. BT is a toxin naturally produced and is used commonly around the world to control pests. Research in Mexico found that three insect species had mutated to be resistant to the pesticide but they also found an alternative toxin to do the job.
